what am I supposed to do with the useless baby donkey? It wants to die and will not sell for much.

Short answer: it takes donkey milk to keep a baby donkey alive, otherwise you're in trouble and probably have to sell it back anyway. Having a milk producing "mom donkey" can provide the milk consistently if you're milking one. Read on if you're interested in a longer answer.

I could give you a more direct answer if you gave more details, but I'll assume you bought a baby donkey off the market and noticed it die on it's own soon after leaving town (did this once with a baby horse myself). First off, you're practically throwing money away if you buy a baby animal as the only animal you have of that species, even though the price is clearly less than an adult animal. Baby animals only consume milk of their species for sustenance (not forage and water like adults due to youth), so a baby donkey can't drink, for example, cow or horse milk, only donkey milk. As such, if you don't have a milk producing female of the species or at least plenty of (in your case) donkey milk and set your people's milk consumption to 0, the baby animal is doomed, and there goes the thousands you spent on it (or do baby donkeys only costs a in the hundreds? I wouldn't know personally).

It is possible to buy baby animals and keep them though. If you have female donkeys and *turn on the "milk animals" setting* in the caravan overview (it's on by default, but you could turn it off to move a bit faster if you don't need it), then the baby donkey will stay alive on its own. As the game goes on, it will eventually grow up to be an adult that can pull carts and get sold at full price at animal markets. You could even get more for free minus feeding costs if you have females and a male and let a lot of time pass by (meaning you let breeding happen).

But for now, you should either make sure you're milking your female donkeys if you have any, get a female donkey you can milk if you don't have one (and you have the money), or as a last resort you could buy a bunch of donkey milk off the market, but that's a mostly bad idea I'd say. The only other way is to sell it right back despite low buyback price, or better yet, load a save from before you bought the baby donkey if you can. Just that you need donkey milk or donkey milk production before getting a baby donkey and your baby animals won't die on you. Same goes for every other animal (baby sheep need sheep milk, etc.).

ok so apparently skills are supposed to level up, even carrying capacity, but iv been playing for 2 days and iv been monitoring skills and iv seen not a single skill increase...carying cap.....close combat...ranged combat...any weapon type usage...nothing........so explanation please?

I know the static skill Learning Capacity (influenced solely by Intelligence) determines how fast someone's skills improve, so if you really aren't noticing any skill improvements whatsoever, it could be due to a really low intelligence stat and it will be a while before much happens.

Other than that, I'd think it's safe to assume that the skill building guide for the game knows what it's talking about in that time passing by is all it takes for some skill levels to increase.

That's what I know for sure off the top of my head at least.

ya mine is low, i reduced it to improve other stats from the start to try to get a "fighting" start, i believe i set my skills at 5 phys 6 agi 7 accuracy and 2 int

but if what ur saying is the case and if EVERY skill can be improved and the only thing that never changes is the attributes, it seems like itd be best long term to dump everything into pure intlligence and ud have a hard start but have a hellacious snowball effect with skills once u got on ur feet

Ya, what I did was boost int to 10 (think the other stats are 4 phys for decent HP, 3 agility and 3 accuracy). I couldn't quite say for sure if my skills have gone up a lot over the past week of playing, but there's also the fact that a high int person is who determines the morale of everyone else in the caravan. Max int combined with the "fighting for yourself" morale buff for your main character (mentioned in the official instructions) is very nice to have. In fact, I only once had one of my guys ever panic in any situation (minus quitting fights when any of my guys die so I don't have to hire new folks), and he was another int 10 guy (Spencer to be exact).

Also, I'd dare say Accuracy is the worst stat because you can boost gun accuracy with scopes or lasers, on top of boosting gun skills by using guns, but that's just a theory.

ya i just mad a new char to test it out, id disagree on the accuracy being a bad start choice as the increased sight will help keep you away from danger sense u maxed int and are basically a squishy bookworm lol, and early game ammo conservation and better hit ratio for the same reason, but to each his own
and this is just a test char for now, im going to see how well it goes, im kinda upset though, i had a 1st playthrough and after i got down the basics made a 2nd and played him all day today and managed to rack up 200k money 2 mercs 3 donkeys and a cart in tow had good things going but i noticed my skills hadnt increased in hours and now after our talk seems like ill probly end up restarting again with this test char if things go well with him

its frustrating though

You don't neccessarily need a good starting character as mercs can make up for most things and animals for the rest. I personally am frustrated every once and again that my main chars morale of about 78%-79% influences my mercs morale of 80%-82%... nyo...
Somewhere in the wiki it's recomended you start with medium phys, medium agi, low acc and high int, eg. 5/4/1/10. This will make for a hard start, because you don't hit most enemies (shooting at melee distance still works great). But if you are careful for some time and reload whenever you get in a hard fight, you will eventually get better...

ya im aware of this but its a personal thing, i hate games where the character i create is expected to be the equivelant of a sideline cheerleader and let random other characters be the essential parts of the game and progression lol, so im determined to find a way to make a valuable character

Simple:Pick a gun type and stick with it. High agility and intelligence. I wouldn't recommend dumping phys to 1 unless you feel like loading a lot of saves, though. In any case, if you can squeeze off 3 aimed shots a round and actually CARRY your chosen gun, you're probably good. Well…after grinding up your rifle skills a bit.

Sort of a newby question here, I have a bit of trouble with getting some things to work:

I would like to buy the two industries in Kivi (Wool→Yarn and Yarn→Jackets). I bought Yarn→Jackets first because I thought I could just import Wool while gaining money for the second one. I have to issues with this next step:

1) I cannot find a way to expand the storage. This means it is far less effective to import Yarn. (I can buy and expand storage in other places, but not in Kivi.)
2) I cannot buy the second industry because there are no unemployed. This has been going on for quite some time. Is there any way to change it? I tried hiring someone from another place and leaving them there, but that didn’t count.

Sorry if that was discussed previously, or in any of the guides.

Some of the places in the first area you can not expand storage. Things in the story line can majorly affect those towns, I don't know what would happen if you already own industries in them.

You can get more unemployed by freeing prisoners in town.

I would wait until the second area to start setting up industries. From my experience yarn is a really hard one to keep going efficiently. Wool prices at the market seem to spike without warning or you have to go to many town to keep gathering wool. No where other than the first area sells yarn for cheap, so you can't really expect to supplement your yarn supply from shops.

Well, it’s kind of late now that I already have one industry there. And that first industry is pretty useless without yarn production, so I’ll buy the second one as well. At least the 550k needed for it is not a huge loss.

I’m not quite sure what you mean by waiting until the second area. I’ve already unlocked quite a few towns. I just feel the route between Kivi and Lintu is the easiest to gain money for the moment, without being interrupted by fights and having to pay medical expenses all the time. And if I’m already there, why not purchase the industries there?

Thanks for the tip on using prisoners.

I'm with you. I bought yarn production in Kivi and gradually expanded to 4 employees. Probably put in about a mil and a half. Now every once in a while I go back and grab some cash. I leave 100 days of expenses (so right now about 13k) in there for emergencies and every single time I go I can pull out about 80k to 100k in ready cash, and the storage has about 75 yarns which sell for $480 apiece.

They've stopped having jackets for sale for some reason, which is unfortunate because my imported tribal jackets were pretty popular in some areas of Alkubra, but the yarn production just keeps plugging along and making money.

The secind region is Alkubra which features the cities New Serino, Lost, Mundschau, Araten, Lago, Orth, Fort Mitchel, ... the Alkubra_Walkthrough article of the wiki features a map if nessecarry

As for unemployed, you can also free slaves. Just don't knock yourself out. If you bring more ppl to the town then they can feed, people will start to starve...

Well, I have been to all those places. I just like hanging out in the tribal region :) Thanks for the hint regarding starving villagers.

On other news, I didn’t know there was a wiki. Previously, I only used the resources linked on caravaneer.gamesofhonor. Thanks for that wellspring of additional information, I’m now off to sell my cows and sheep…

Hey guys.
To any of you who have finished the game or gone really far, without revealing too many spoilers, is it better to attack Drekar or allow them to leave?
Which one works out better in the long term. Would either action significantly affect the storyline later on? Would we encounter Drekar again? Which option would make things more fun?

And also, what things affect the "Smart" rating? Is it just dialogue or other things?

I’m not far, in but from what I have gathered there are two main paths in the game: One is for and one against slavery. Drekar are on the side of slavery and your interaction with them will change your reputations.

Another thing is that you can buy all the industries that are destroyed in the fight. In my case I have bought two industries in Kivi and might decide to rebuild the Drekar Camp if I have a couple million lying around at some point.

Edit: Another question. I bought the binoculars. How do I use them? Someone earlier in this thread said they are used automatically but they are still listed as not in use in the cargo.

I dont have them but is they a USE button when you click on the item. If not it probably adds to your stats automatically.

Guys, I was wondering what is the way to increase the relation with Lois? I was trying to make her join me after defeating Regin's Gang, but she refused, I believe it is because my relation is -1. I saw some of You having like +20 or more, so my question is what can increase it. By the way are there other conditions for recruiting her (besides following the good path)?

You may want to try and restore a save to choose better dialogue if you want a better reputation with Lois.

Additionally, she only joins you once you are trying to recruit allies to fight The Federation on Qubba's side.

So which dialogue options are the best? I was trying to send Narizians to Pullid camp but she didn't agree for that, possibly +3 rep isn't enough to do this.

And yes, I am aware of that when you can recruit her.

Either this is misleading or there is some way to equip it.

It is automatically equipped - binoculars increase sight for ur best "spotter" - guy with highest sight. Other items like wrench or balling gun work all the time for ur best in the party. However if you have more than one, the other works for the second best and so on - your total skill is best + 2nd best/2 + 3rd best/3 and so on.

Once again having difficulties loading games. Seems to be related to the DLC being unretrievable from server. I must have reloaded the web page 50 times by now. Can this problem be fixed? Its rather annoying.

Not sure if this is a bug or an unintended exploit. If you leave the tribal region before killing off Drekar, then come back later, you'll be able to sell goat meat for abut 3000/kg. This also happens eventually at Lago, but with all food. Cheese at Lao costs something like 7000/kg. Eventually Lago becomes so poor that it tries to sell its goat farm. Buying puts all prices back into balance.

And it was just an attempt to find her where I was late, after that I said something he did not like then said I would never be able to find her and stopped talking to me.
