It was given by the Man of Zinc priest. I'm working on it since I can't really do much else, just to see if clearing that will let me progress.

Haha, then you're on the right track, apparently you took missions from Kevin, and not Calvin, If you've progressed far enough, then Calvin and the rest of workforce merchants disappeared from Alkubra.

Does anyone know how I can increase my relationship with Pim? I'm at +2, he gave me the nautical almanac and I used it, but when I ask if I can help with his GPS device he just keeps saying no.

I'm guessing this is because my relationship with him isn't high enough, but is there some other factor I'm missing?

Don't KEEP ASKING HIM!! or you'll lose it
if you have read the conversation well he will be able to finish a prototype in a couple of Months, be back after 2-3 or more months

Er... That's strange the Man of Zinc mission is part of the Liberation Army storyline. I thought it was more of a side quest type thing that was neutral to the conflict. Kevin has only ever asked why I'm at his house. Mustaparta has never given me any dialogue except telling me about the region. And not once have I seen Calvin in New Serino, not even the first time I visited that town.

I traveled around the Alkubra region, visiting all towns, before I battled the Drekar. So, I got the Billy's grave quest before I even chose a side in the tribal region.

Anyway, I haven't managed to find the grave yet so I don't have an update on whether or not it helped me get back into the story line.

My missions haven't changed. I got a little sidetracked working toward some better transportation. Luckily I know which directions to travel to open up the other regions without an NPC pointing me to them.

Starting over is always an option but I'd rather do a little investigative work. If this is a problem that others might run into then it may need to be changed. Finding the grave isn't all that easy if you don't have access to faster transport and better equipment. If it's setting a flag that prevents you from advancing the storyline then less experienced players may simply quit playing and not attempt starting over.

Not sure if this is a good place to post bugs, but there wasn't a link to submit them directly. I slaughtered a bunch of cows from a few opponents and ended up with lots of beef. Like over 3000. It listed my kcal in the map as just above 4 million. In hindsight I have a hunch that it was actually 4,294,967,295 which is the top limit of a 32 bit integer. Since then, it's listing my needed kcal as 0 for my 10ish person caravan. Am down to a million kcal now and still listing food needed as 0 kcal. It's not causing any problems. Can still play just fine. Not sure if it's actually using up food or not.

An update: I got Billy's skeleton to the Man of Zinc priest and it didn't "fix" anything. I really think I've hit a bug somehow. There's no way for me to advance the story line that I can find after revisiting all the places where someone should be appearing or giving me helpful dialogue. I'm giving up on that game instance unless someone else has some ideas to try. :)

remove the DLC and it works again

Looks like i found a way around. Somehow loading one of my old saves (August) and then loading the latest one makes it work. Really weird, but it solved the problem for me, albeit repeating the whole process every time you load a game seems like a nuisance.

lol 241 unread mails in forum inbox, suddenly the game got popular again~XD

u can set ur food n water consumption to 0% n u will know whether u need it or not, like wise if ur doctor skills are high enough u do not need food or water to survive at all and can afk in desert all day n turn on collection n foraging n leave ur game running for income~ Though the only reason ill keep it running is to raise its weight limit slowly, weight limit does increase bit by bit for humans over the year, just very slowly~ but as long we r still immortals it doesnt matter~XD

Suggestions for "Caravaneer 3"

I've played both, caravaneer and caravaneer 2. The stories are very good and the translations and correct, and i have some ideas...

New vehicles:

Motorcicle - with less cargo capacity than toe cutter but better speed (see Mad Max films for the concept)

Tank truck - the best way to carry liquids but with the inconvenece that most of the enemies should try to destroy them. Also should be very rare to find.

police cars - could take 4 passengers, less speed than igelkott and similar cargo

Also, maybe would be a good idea to make some "attack vehicles", for example, an mg could be mounted on igelkotts, that make them more usefull and they could be selected as an objective to be destroyed.

Some changes in weapons...

It's a bit annoying the way they are used. AKM and M16 are worst than mosin-nagant (at least in my opinion)
I'd like to see a "damage" stats on them which makes more easy the election of a weapon.

Range of weapons:
I'd like to see "out of range" while using some weapons.

That's all, thanks a lot for the games, congrats, are very addictive!!!

Seems everybody has the same problem, me too. This DLC do something with saves and make game unplayable. We have to play without this DLC and wait hopefully until they will fix it.

http://caravaneer2.wikia.com/wiki/Tribal_Walkthrough
"Once you have given all the cleavers and bolts, Apis will tell you the appointed time to meet with Lois, which is 12 hours. In order to wait, you just have to go out in the map, put your mouse cursor over the date, and then watch the time at the top left corner and wait for it to be 12 hours after you started. You will only get two chances to meet with Lois, if you miss both appointments then you can no longer take this mission path."

Love the game. I played so many hours on Caravaneer. Took me a little while to get into this one but once I got comfortable with all the added info, it is amazing.

Major issues with quests though. Cannot re-access the quest-giving dialogues through Log. What if you forgot who to talk to or where? Also the dialogues are sometimes vague. I had to play through the Tribal conflict with Drekar several times while cross-referencing with wiki/this thread to figure out just what was going on.

Having problems now as well...

The entire Emilia's Baby situation isn't right. My first play through I got the ceremonial hatchet from the guy but nothing cued when I went back to Bunker. Second time, I got the hatchet and tried every dialogue path I could with Emilia but they all result in a massive reputation hit (with Emilia and most with "Rational" too) and a locked dialogue with her. Why was I given all the information about fashioning a unique object to fool the demon baby if none of it can be accomplished? I saw on a Wiki that you have to bring Olaf back to Bunker to get this quest. That seems odd that both of the first two quests given in the game are the last to finish?

Now I'm on Narizians. Moving them to Tribal seemed like a great plan. But... I have no dialogue cued with anyone in Tribal that can progress the quest forward. I am: +11 KUKUL; +27 APIS; +9 LOIS; +4 SIGURD; 0 ORION; 0 CHAIRMAN BRASS. I even made sure to try this approach in a game where the Drekar Camp still exists. Kukul, Apis, Lois, Orion and Chairman Brass have the same dialogue options they did before I took on the Narizian quest and those are the only NPCs available in the Tribal region. So I can't even ask if they have space for anybody to move in. Checked the Drekar camp since that would be a great solution but nothing there to do.

Anyone know how to reverse the hunger stat debuff (the "(-1)" that can appear next to Physical) for going without food for too long? My current guess is basically getting your people fat, but not sure it's the best way.

This is not a direct effect of getting no food, but either due to low morale or low health.
If your people also lost weight (you can check in the character stats their relative weight), you can increase their rations above 100% for some time, so they gain back their weight and morale faster. You should set food back to 100% when anyone has a weight (notably) above 100%.
Note that people need more water when they gain weight, so water consumtion might increase over a long trip.

Well, preferably, you load a save from before you missed the second meeting, and to make sure you make the meeting, play on the slowest time setting while waiting for 12 in game hours to pass (hint: hover mouse over date/time display in travel mode to show exact time). As a last resort, if you have accidentally lost save data from before setting up any meetings, you can use the following.

SPOILER:

You can go in the 351 degree direction from Lintu camp to go a hut that is guarded by a few thugs, one of which has a luger pistol to watch out for, and collect some documents there. One of the documents mentions one of Drekar's evil deeds (I'll let you find out more yourself), and once you show the document to Kukul, he'll decide he might attack Drekar. After that, you can talk to Pullid about Kukul's decision (but I never tried talking to Pullid about it, so the rest you'll have to find out on your own).

END SPOILER

I personally made the meeting and went the Kivi tribe route to dealing with Drekar. It's not that hard and is well worth it to do, so I say keep trying to make the meetings if you have save data to redo the meetings with.

@tamashii: Thanks for the info! Might be worth added that info to the wiki (linked by Rhons just above).

Actually, I already found sigurd's Hut. I talked to Kukul about the police reports and then talked to pullid who doesn't like Kukul. Talked to drekar tribe and convinced him to kill Kukul. I warned Kukul, but after that I have no dialogue options for any tribe and Can't seem to continue the game. The reason I'm trying find another path is because I had already made $100,000 money and don't want to have to restart.

Believe it or not, it's not that hard to make it to $100,000 in the second, and especially third areas once you figure out what to trade (cotton trade works well in the second area and the third area buys big in alcohol, sometimes bigger in fuel).

More importantly, getting to a meeting and eventually convincing Kivi to attack Drekar results in getting a volunteer member for your caravan (meaning you don't have to pay them), and he's pretty good too. I'd say it's probably best to load an older save from before setting up a meeting, even if it's quite a ways back.

As for the situation you got into... I have no idea why you'd want to attack Drekar then suddenly change your mind and have Drekar kill Kukul. I'd say this is absolutely reason enough to backtrack, as messing up the story might as well be like being in a few million bucks of debt.

Might want to stick to your guns in deciding whether to oppose or support Drekar too, rather than trying to go back and forth and ending up getting stuck and kissing a chance to leave the tribal area goodbye, and greater profits along with it.

Ya. Your right, I suppose i'll start a new game. However asking Drekar to Kill Kukul was only so I could get Pullid to team up with Kukul's tribe.... and I just went with the few Dialog options I had. SO I guess that answers my question, there is no way to continue the story if you miss all your meetings with Lois.

Do animals suffer from malnutrition? I like to improve my veterinary skills by always having some animals health not at 100% but when I don't feed them my total maximum amount that I can carry decreases. Is this because my animals are getting old and can't carry as much anymore or because their stats get weaker when I don't feed them. I know they can't carry as much if their health is lower but if I heal them to 100% and my workload is still lower is that age or some malnutrition?

Their weight lowers from lack of forage and carrying capacity is determined by weight. If you want to damage their health withhold water, not forage. Try not to ever starve your animals, even for a short time.

Anyway, I always thought directions were given like "10° North", and I don't think most people will know what "ten degrees direction" means, but it's not that big a deal. I didn't realize there would be this much disagreement over this. People will figure it out from checking the map either way.

A bigger issue I think is the save feature, I'm not seeing how to save games other than turning on the autosave, which doesn't let you save multiple games. That will be a serious playability factor, along with the crashing during battles. The direction stuff is just a minor detail.

you dont need to check the map, it tells you the numerical degree your facing as you mouse around your caravan, its displayed in the top left corner but a compass needle always faces due north as its affected by the magnetic poles of the earth, north/south pole. and yes realistically you would give directions such as 10 degrees north/ 35 degrees south and so on, but for whatever reason in this game they totally left out north/south/east/west navigation and just kept it as a 360 degree numerical layout where as 0 would b north 90 east 180 south and 270 west, the reason is beyond me but thats basically whats going on here
and to save game, be in travel mode, red button next to game speed buttons brings up menus for save/load and more
